Hi, we are Lagomberry.

A small family sourdough bakery in the Hudson Valley, built on one simple idea: real bread, made slowly, the way it used to be.

how it started

It started with one stubborn jar of starter.

And a question that would not go away: why does most bread leave you feeling heavy, and why is it so hard to find a loaf made the honest way?

Lagomberry began at home, with Lorraine baking for her own family. The more she learned about long fermentation and real flour, the more it felt wrong to go back to the supermarket aisle. Friends asked for loaves. Then neighbours. Then the whole valley.

Today every loaf is still hand-shaped and baked in small batches. We never grew out of treating each one like it was going to our own table, because most weeks, it is.

what lagom means

Just the right amount.

"Lagom" is a Swedish word with no perfect English translation. It means not too little, not too much, just right. Balance. Enough.

That is how we bake and how we think about food. Not bigger, not faster, not stuffed with things to make it last a month on a shelf. Just real bread, made with care, in the amount that is right.

why we do it

Bread should make you feel good.

We believe a lot of what people blame on bread is really the fault of ultra-processed food and fast, industrial baking. Real sourdough, fermented slowly with quality flour, is a different thing entirely.

Our quiet mission is to bring one simple habit back to families: eat genuinely good bread, and feel the difference. No heaviness, no discomfort, just food the way it should be. More on why it matters →

Baked in New Windsor, NY.

We bake in New Windsor and hand-deliver across the Hudson Valley, within about 15 miles. Pickup is always free, and you can find us at a handful of local spots we love.
