Rye Cheese Board

Rye is the quiet hero of a cheese board. Its depth stands up to aged, funky cheeses where a plain cracker simply disappears.

made with European Rye

What you need

  • European Rye, sliced and toasted
  • Aged gruyère or cheddar
  • A blue cheese
  • Cornichons
  • Wholegrain mustard
  • Honey
  • Walnuts
  • Grapes or sliced apple

Make it

  1. Toast the rye slices and cut into soldiers or wedges.
  2. Arrange the cheeses with space between them.
  3. Fill the gaps with pickles, nuts and fruit.
  4. Add small bowls of mustard and honey.
  5. Let everyone build their own bite on the rye.

Tip. Bring the cheese to room temperature about 30 minutes before serving, it is a completely different experience warm.
