Naked Rye Sourdough

All rye, with sprouted rye berries baked in whole. Dense on purpose: slice it thin.

Something sweet with it, baked to order:

Lorraine, co-founder and baker at Lagomberry, mixing whole wheat dough by hand
the baker

Lorraine bakes it. Two miles from City Hall.

Every loaf is mixed, shaped and baked by Lorraine in our kitchen in New Windsor, next to the stand. She has fed the same starter every morning since 2023.

Orders close on Sunday night, and the week’s bake is planned around them. The wheat and rye loaves get a long, slow fermentation before they go in the oven.

The Whole Wheat is four ingredients: flour, water, salt and starter. Every loaf’s full list is on its page.

Newburgh questions

Before you order.

Is there a Lagomberry shop in Newburgh I can walk into?

Not a shop. We bake in New Windsor, about two miles from Newburgh City Hall. You get our bread by delivery, or at our self-serve farm stand on Route 9W: a preorder with your name on it, or whatever is on the shelf that day. The stand is open daily, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Do you deliver to the Town of Newburgh, or only the city?

Both. Delivery covers the 12550, 12551 and 12552 ZIP codes, which takes in the City of Newburgh and the Town around it, including Balmville, Gardnertown and Orange Lake. It is $5 a delivery.

When do I have to order, and when does the bread come?

Order by Sunday night for the coming week. At checkout you pick a day from Wednesday to Saturday, at least two days out, and we email the date right after payment.

Can I buy at the stand without ordering?

Yes. The stand is open every day, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Scan the code and pay from your phone with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. Wednesday to Saturday the full lineup is out by 10 a.m.; other days, whatever we have.

Are you at a farmers market in Newburgh?

Not this season. On some weekends we sell at markets and festivals farther afield, so the stand on 9W is the one place you can find us every day.
